I just made an appointment to put Stripes to sleep tomorrow. I don’t know how he is still alive and behaving like he always did, as he was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. Incredibly sweet and well-behaved, I always felt he could work as a therapy pet. Years ago, a neighbour kid, who had just been abandoned by his mother, would come to visit to hug Stripes. And Stripes would stay with the boy for as long as he needed.
